Our new pianist Zsuzsanna Lukacs

We have a new pianist. Zsuzsanna Lukacs is an active performing artist and piano teacher at the Kabok Music School

The Hungarian pianist Zsuzsanna Lukacs was born in Targu Mures, Romania. She graduated from the Gheorghe Dima Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, obtained a "1er Prix de Virtuosité" at the Lausanne Conservatory in Switzerland and a Master's Degree in Piano Performance at the University of British Columbia. She studied chamber music at the European Mozart Academy in Poland and attended several courses and masterclasses in Europe and Canada. Zsuzsanna has performed extensively both as a soloist and collaborative pianist in Europe, Canada and the US.

Zsuzsanna has collaborated with the UBC Opera Ensemble, UBC Choral Union, Vancouver Opera, Opera Breve, Opera Appassionata, Opera ProCantanti and the Okanagan Vocal Arts Festival. She has performed several times for the Chutzpah Festival with violinist Zina Schiff and was broadcast three times by CBC Radio 2 Westcoast Performance with singers of the Okanagan Vocal Arts Festival .

Zsuzsanna premiered two newly discovered works by Beethoven with the cellist Dimitry Markevich in 1996 in Ottawa-Hull. She also premiered a tuba concerto by Canadian composer Victor Davies with tuba player J.C. Sherman, and performed the World premiere of Canadian composer Bruce Ruddell';s work “Vigil” with the Borealis String Quartet that was broadcast on CBC Radio.

At the present she teaches piano at the Kabok Music School and maintains an active performing career.
